Sunday, September 29th Applicant Update
Thank you to all students who applied to our Fall 2024 Engineering Immersion Program. From Sunday, September 29th to Tuesday, October 1st we will be working to send out acceptance emails to as many students as possible. Afterward, later in the week we may take additional students off the waiting list. We know several high schools were only able to share the program in the final days of the recruitment period, and decided to extend an application grace period until the evening of Wednesday, October 2nd so all students have a fair chance to apply. Application decisions are largely based on the number of spaces available with high school juniors and seniors given higher priority because this could be their last chance to enroll in the program. We highly encourage students who do not hear back from us to reapply for the program in the future and we will run additional sessions of the 9 Saturday afternoon program in Spring 2025. The dates and details of the program will be updated on our website by November 1st.
9 Saturday Afternoon Sessions: 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, 11/30

Utilizing a wide array of subjects and tools, Engineers have built a diverse array of products, systems and structures that have changed every sector of our society. Over the course of 9 Saturday afternoons in Fall 2024, high school students will learn about their future opportunities throughout the Engineering field as it relates to an education, a career and developing innovative products that can have a positive impact on our surrounding world. Students will hear presentations and discussions from professionals working in the engineering field. We will explore engineering sectors such as bioengineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering and computer engineering, as well as the operations of running an engineering related business. Students will explore how different STEM academic subjects such as mathematics, physics and computer science converge in the engineering field to solve problems. Through workshops and discussions, E-IP students will learn more about how their unique personal and academic interests can relate to a possible career future in engineering. Additional talks will be given by E-IP program staff that will explore the academic education, technical training and unique skill set that engineering professionals utilize in their work role. Students will also experience the field firsthand by working on a small, facilitated group project related to engineering design, product development and user experience. E-IP will be a fun and transformative way for high school students to learn more about their future opportunities in STEM and engineering this Fall!

Core Components of Fall 2024 E-IP
– Engineering Speaker Talks & Discussions –
We will hear from working professionals in the engineering field who have experience in fields such as bioengineering, chemical engineering, and industrial engineering, as well as the operations sector of engineering companies. We will hear about subjects related to their work, their professional careers as well as their personal journey into the world of engineering.
– College & Career Pathways –
As students learn more about their interests and personal strengths throughout E-IP , we will discuss how students can connect their personal goals to tangible outcomes. We will explore college admissions as well as how to create an enriching college experience afterward. We will also explore career pathways and outcomes related to engineering and beyond.
– Leadership Workshops –
Students will have comprehensive discussions about how they relate to the engineering field and will also engage in workshops that help them understand their strengths in a team.
– Project Based Learning Team Work –
Students will take part in collaborative team projects where we will experience how real world professionals use engineering to solve problems and cultivate solutions. Students will learn the value of teamwork, collaboration and working across sectors in engineering to achieve outcomes.
